What is the Showcase?

The Showcase is DERT’s evening show. It takes place on the Saturday evening after all the day’s competitions are over. Everyone will gather at the theatre for the show to start at 7.30pm, and all the teams are invited to perform again – teams often use this as a chance to do comedy versions of their competition dance. The prizes are awarded at the end of the night.

The Showcase this year will be held in the historic Tyne Theatre and Opera House – located very close to Newcastle’s Central Station, this iconic Victorian Grade I listed theatre opened for the first time in 1867 and has been entertaining audiences almost continually as a theatre and briefly a cinema since that date. For DERT there will be a fully stocked bar and DERT 2019 merchandise for sale.
